Selection process

The MOBs program is an opportunity for mothers and sons to engage in a community of others who they can relate to with respect to life.  The program has a smooth selection process that is coordinated by the director and her team.

The application is needed to understand the mother and son who are seeking to become engaged with the Mothers of Black Sons.  We do not charge dues, yet we seek participants who will be actively engaged with the program.

The young men are asked to participate and be attentive for the activities, and mothers are also expected to be engaged to ensure success of the all parties involved.

You will review the guidelines and expectations of the program when you meet with the director or her designee, which will occur when your application has been recognized as approved.

Please understand that we are working together to develop young Black males, which requires a serious approach that is without major distractions.  We are confident that each participant, both mother and son, will have an enriching experience that will yield success for both.

Please consider volunteering for the Mothers of Black Sons with your talent or based on the needs of the program.  We will place a call for volunteers when there are initiatives that require volunteers.  There will be opportunities to share your talents as well, given your occupation, talent, or ideas.

We are a nonprofit organization that is focused on the development of young Black males in our community.  The scope of the program requires dedication from members of the community in the form of resources (time, talent, treasure).
